Rawling's High School State Tournameny

By Sean Wilson 07/29/2020, 6:30pm CDT

July 31 - August 2 | Webb Park, Oak Grove MO

2020 Rawling's High School State Tournament will be held at Webb Park in Oak Grove, MO on July 31 - August 2.  The event includes (2) Pool Play games leading to a single elimination Bracket Play championship.  Gate Fees have been PREPAID by the club and your own lawn chairs are recommended.

Click Here to access the USSSA event site with all of the  official schedule information including the bracket play details which will be available (30) minutes after the completion of the last pool play game.

Everyone entering the park is required to have a mask on. The Jackson County Health Department has notified us that they will shut down the tournament if this is not followed. The specific rule that covers this is: "Masks MUST be worn at all times in public when you cannot ensure you will be able to maintain a 6-foot distance from others."*

Just so we are clear, when entering the park, when going to the restroom or the concession stand and exiting the park, you will need to wear a mask. Last weekend, we had great success with almost everyone following these guidelines. However, I cannot stress this enough: when you are leaving the park, YOU MUST WEAR A MASK. I know this is a lot. It is just the way it is. Please help us keep tournaments playing in Jackson County!!!

Once you find your seat and your family is sitting 6 feet apart from other individuals, you may take the mask off and watch the game. Just remember, if you are within 6 feet of someone that is not in your family, you are required to wear a mask; so spread out! I am attaching the actual complete Jackson County Recovery 2.5 Plan. Just make sure your parents know what is required of them. Also, there will be no golf carts available to transport elderly or handicapped individuals in and out of the park.

16u Waldo Thunder Crowe will participate in the JV 16u Event.

17u Waldo Thunder Wilson will participate in the Varsity 18u Event.

Covid-19 Protocols for High School Thunder Baseball

By Sean Wilson 06/26/2020, 4:00pm CDT

Face Masks Required in Dugout

16u & 17u Waldo Thunder:

You may have already seen the news about positive Covid-19 test results from two High School student athletes at Shawnee Mission East High School. SME has halted all summer athletic conditioning programs while contact tracing continues. We do not believe there is any significant direct exposure risk to athletes in our Thunder Baseball program but will continue to monitor and ask players to quarantine and miss games/practices if direct exposure has taken place.

In an abundance of safety and to be good community leaders, we are asking that all Thunder Baseball players and coaches wear masks in dugout areas and during team meetings at all upcoming games and practices. The KCMO Health Department continues to advise that outdoor baseball is a safe activity with minimal risk of spread and supported our decision to proceed with masks for players and coaches in the dugout.

Please have your players bring masks to be worn in the dugout for games tomorrow. We will have some extra masks available for players that are unable to provide their own. Along these lines, please ensure that players are bringing plenty of water (perhaps even more than usual) as players sharing water continues to be an area of concern in our dugouts.

We appreciate your diligence as we work through this health crisis as a community.

Thanks & Go Thunder!
