Teamwork Sports Strength & Conditioning Program

Engineering Athletes Strength & Conditioning

Proper power, strength, and sport specific conditioning is necessary for optimal sports performance. If you lack any of theses capacities, you may be predisposed to injury and will not express motor skill efficiently. If you can improve your physical capacities, you will become resilient to stress and will perform at a high level.

Dr Tom Teter and Engineering Athletes offer an innovative approach to training.  Building on a solid athletic foundation while staying focused on each athletes individual goals. Athletes are closely supervised as our coaches take them through a specific and intense 90 minute workout with close attention always being paid to proper technique and safety.

The workouts consist of functionally sound movement training, strength training and conditioning with a strong focus on basic and proper technique. The workouts become progressively more challenging once basic techniques have been mastered. All of the training groups are lead by qualified strength coaches with a proper athlete to coach ratio to allow for maximum attention.

Each 90 minute workout consists of:

  1. Prime: Mobility and Motor Control Correction
  2. Prep: Active and Dynamic Warmup with Muscle Activation
  3. Power: Sprinting, Jumping, and Throwing
  4. Push: Upper Body, Trunk/Core, and Lower Body Resistance Training
  5. Propel: Energy System Conditioning for Specific Sport Activities
  6. Promote: Active Recovery for Injury Prevention

Dr. Tom Teter is the founder and owner of Engineering Athletes, a rehabilitation and performance enhancement clinic that focuses on assisting athletes in reaching their peak physical potential. Engineering Athletes utilizes a systematic process for long term athletic development integrating manual therapy, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement training. With more than 15 years of clinical experience in clinical practice and strength and conditioning Dr. Teter has treated and trained thousands of athletes at all levels of skill and ability. His clients have ranged from children in youth development programs to elite and professional athletes from a wide variety of sporting backgrounds. Dr. Teter holds a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science from Missouri State University, as well as a Doctorate in Chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic College. With his extensive experience in rehabilitation Dr. Teter holds numerous certifications within the industry that have helped him develop injury prevention and performance enhancement programs for numerous teams and individual athletes. In addition to running his private practice Dr. Teter was an Associate Professor and the program director for the Fitness and Wellness program at Park University for 5 years. During his time at Park University Dr. Teter developed the programs curriculum blending the science of exercise with the practical application of strength and conditioning. Because of his experience teaching in academia, Dr. Teter developed his ‘Rehab to Fitness’ continuing education course instructing athletic trainers, chiropractors, and physical therapists how to optimize human movement and design practical training programs. In addition to his work at the University, Dr. Teter developed and created an application for smartphones that determines daily readiness for athletic activity by measuring subjective training loads and physiological adaptation to stress. The application ‘Ready Athlete’ has the ability to decrease the incidence of injury by using data to predict the onset of overtraining. Due to his experience and expertise Dr. Teter has also become a sought after expert witness in court cases involving injuries occurring during fitness participation.
