The Waldo Thunder Softball Club was formed in 2014.  Our goal is to field youth girls softball teams with players predominately from South Kansas City communities and provide a competitive alternative to recreational softball without single sport dedication, excessive fees, or suburban facilities.  Fielding teams representing multiple schools is an important core aspect of our club.  Our 2021-22 rosters included players from more than a dozen area schools in Kansas and Missouri.

Although sharing the core values of teaching fundamentals of the game with focus on teamwork and sportsmanship while preparing players for on and off field success, our volunteer head coaches will operate each team independently including final roster decisions, specific practice routines, and game day philosophies.

The club will field several teams in 2022-23, including teams at each age group 8U 10U 12U 14U.  The Teams will compete in the league play at The J, Blue Valley, Olathe, and LSGSA plus optional ASA sanctioned events.

The Waldo Thunder Softball Club operates primarily on Parent Paid Team Fees basis.

Team Fee = Waldo Thunder Softball Club Fee.  Payment of the Team Fee will secure your 2022-23 roster spot.  This Team Fee is expected to be $480 per player.  This will cover league fee, outdoor practice fields, indoor practice time, team equipment, team insurance, and TSKC SportsEngine Team Page & Mobile App.  The exact team fee will vary team by team based on choice of league to play and number of additional tournaments to be scheduled.

The Waldo Thunder Softball Club operates teams expecting 1-2 nights a week of commitment from younger teams and 2-3 nights a week of commitment from older teams.  Each Head Coach will set their own specific team schedule but all will fall within these guidelines.

Outdoor practices will begin in mid-late March after Spring Break or early April.  Practices will be held one/two (younger teams) or two/three (older teams) nights per week.  The Blue valley Softball Season will begin in mid-late April and run through early July.  Most teams will have one/two (younger teams) or two/three (older teams) practices and/or games per week.

The Waldo Thunder Softball Club provides high-quality uniforms to create that ultimate Club Team experience without extraordinary financial commitment.  Players are required to purchase Practice Jersey & Game Jersey from TSKC.  The balance of the uniform pieces including Gray Pants, Navy Belt, Navy Socks, and Red or Navy Helmet may be purchased at any retailer.

On a team by team basis, additional uniform items may be required including DriFit Game Jersey and/or Practice Shirts.

Coaches Items available for sale include Hat, DriFit, and Polo Golf Shirts.

Each Waldo Thunder team will have a Team Page powered by Sport Ngin.  This team page will include Roster, Schedule / Calendar, Statistics, Photos, and much more.  Additionally, coaches will use this powerful platform for all communications.  Parents will be able to access the Team Page from TeamworkSportsKC.com or the TS Mobile app which is available for FREE from the iOS App Store and Android Google Play.
