Weekly Blog Number One

#SeanBlog #Top3 08.26.15

1)  #BackToSchool aka #GetAJob - Kids across Kansas City including my own started back to school recently bringing along all of the excitement of starting a new year along with all of the anxieties of ending another summer vacation.  Kelli & I are very proud of our 5th Grader and 7th Grader and can hardly believe wow quickly they have grown up.  Here's to a great school year.

But for me, back to school also marked the day I have been secretly concerned about since January 23...it marks the day I have been telling myself and anyone that asks me that I will begin the process of making the next phase of my career a reality....it marks the day that I flip from enjoying the paid time off to the day when the clock is ticking on the generous opportunity provided me by Sprint....it marks the day where it is PutUp or ShutUp time on being an entrepreneur and/or start looking for a new job.

To that end, it marks the day where I begin the Teamwork Sports weekly #SeanBlog that I promised myself to publish when we converted to the TeamworkSportsKC SportNgin platform.  So, here is the first submission.  It will be in #Top3 format each week, sharing something about three items of relevance.  I hope to be able to share some insights, pose some questions, and increase our exposure in the community.  If you like what you read, please bookmark and share.

2)  #kc3and2 #FallBall - Kansas City 3&2 Baseball Fall Baseball Program began play this week.  For the first time in many years, teams are back in action for fall baseball at Kansas City 3&2 instead of heading North or South for their youth baseball fixes.  I am very proud of the fact that we are up and running and believe it is a great stepping stone for continued growth of Kansas City 3&2 Baseball into the future.

We will certainly experience some growing pains this fall, we will work very hard to make it a great experience.  No late games, targeting 1 game per week with a max of 2 games per week, no standings or league champions to ensure development is the focus, and best of all - we are right down the street at the Kansas City 3&2 Baseball Complex.

3)  #FacilityGoTime - The journey that will lead to an indoor facility for Teamwork Sports has officially taken a large step forward.  As you probably know, our vision is to open a multi-sport, indoor youth athletic facility that will serve the needs of families in our South Kansas City communities.  There are several paths this journey may take and many, many steps ahead.  If I learned anything from my 20+ years of Corporate America, it is the fact that big ideas have a better chance of coming to life if there is a stated goal that can be shared with management, employees, investors, customers, and the public.  So here goes....Our goal is to buy, build, lease, or partner into an indoor facility ready for the Fall/Winter 2016.  I believe this #SeanBlog one year from today will be focused on the #Top3 of our Teamwork Sports Indoor Facility Grand Opening.

That's it for now.
